Day One
We arrived early in Athens, around 6am, so we had time to kill before checking in and getting some sleep. We ate an overdue breakfast, while fighter jets and stunt planes flew overhead (it was an air show over Athens of some sort).
We visited a sprawling set of ruins, half uncovered, alongside a small museum and the stunning temple of Hephaestus.
Afterwards, we grabbed some lunch, and meandered back to the hotel for relievingly early check in.
Later venturing out for drinks (accompanied by an impressive pile of prosciutto) and dinner at a small pizza by the slice place.

Day Two
Our second day in Athens we had a fantastic hotel breakfast, before launching off for the day to wander through the city and eventually climb Lycabettus hill.
The climb was beautiful, although the summit of the hill was rather crowded. There were small cafes and restaurants littered up the side in a confusing vertical spectacle.
After a relaxing drink at the top, we descended down (avoiding the significant line for the funicular) and were rewarded with a brief shower.
We explored the city for a while after, having a pastry based lunch before being doused in some heavier rain on the way back to the hotel.
Dinner was a an under-advertised portion of various meats at a close by restaurant, leaving us both very full.

Day Three
Early start off to Megara for rail biking (pedal carts on unused rail tracks).
The bus ride has some scenic sections, overlooking a shipyard and a large wreck. Unfortunately, after arriving in Megara the weather turned south and the tour was cancelled.
We trudge back to Athens on the 1hr+ bus.
In the late afternoon we head up to the Acropolis hill, however admission to view the ruin is closed. We climb a popular nearby outcrop for a beautiful view of the city, followed by drinks on the hotel roof.
