Day One
See this earlier post:
Despite the chaos, the scenery of the journey was spectacular, as the land became more hilly and the sun set behind snow capped mountains.
Our joy at exiting the bus was short lived, as we then had to navigate the intimidating Bulgarian subway, which accepted cash only, in a currency we did not have.

Day Two
Our first proper day in Sofia was dominated by an urgent need to do washing, and the urge to relax after our previous ordeal.

Day Three
Our last full day in Sofia before catching a very early morning flight.
We managed to escape our washing labour and explore the city a bit more, visiting the Patriarchal Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky, and forgetting that it was Sunday morning when we stepped inside.
We wrapped up the day with Rakia tasting (local spirit distilled from various fruits and grapes).
